A Word About Where Your Donations Go
PEG is unusual in that 100% of donations go directly to projects in Guatemala unless the donor specifies otherwise. Since PEG is mostly volunteer run in the US, we keep our administrative costs very low. We have a part-time Executive Director who works 5-10 hours per week and there are costs for administration (printing, web site, travel to Guatemala, etc.), of course. Supporting those costs can be seen as a way to leverage change. If you would like some percentage of your donation to help with administration, please send an email and let us know your preference. (To clarify: if we don’t hear from you, none of your donation will go to administration.)

Designating a Particular Project
If you are interested in supporting a particular project or fundraising campaign, and you would like to designate your donation, feel free to send an email to let us know of your preference. Some projects are already fully funded and some needs shift over time, but we’ll make every effort to satisfy your request and to be in touch with you if we can’t.
A Note About Credit Card Fees
PEG goes to great lengths to let you know right where your money is going. To that end, please note that PayPal takes their processing fee out from online donations before they reach PEG. That fee is 30 cents per transaction plus 2.9% of the donation amount. As an example, the fee for a hundred dollar donation would be $2.90 plus .30, or $3.20, so $96.80 will reach PEG. If you would prefer to avoid that loss to PEG, feel free to simply send a check, or add the appropriate amount to your donation to defray those expenses.
